OSINT Research
OSINT research fills gaps on a contact using public sources — useful context for people you already know, not a cold-prospecting tool.
When to use it
Open a contact in the portal and choose Run OSINT research. Only run it for people you genuinely know. The UI warns about this because enrichment is meant for relationship context, not scraping strangers.
What happens
Research runs asynchronously and can take several minutes. Each contact has a 24-hour cooldown between runs.
At a high level the pipeline:
- Looks up contact details (for example email and LinkedIn gaps)
- Searches the public web for identity signals (profiles, company, press, and similar)
- May pull an avatar and, where relevant, UK company registration data
- Uses an LLM to synthesise a short narrative, findings, and talking points
- Writes results into empty contact fields only — it does not overwrite values you already set
What you get
Typical outputs include:
- Location, phone, and social or personal site URLs when found
- Avatar image
- Previous roles and company registration details where applicable
- Podcast / press / talk mentions
- Talking points plus a narrative summary and structured findings
Each run records status (idle, running, completed, or failed) so you can see whether enrichment finished.
Agents and MCP
There is no dedicated OSINT MCP tool. Agents can read enriched fields with get_contact and adjust them with update_contact. See the MCP Server page for tool details.
Tips
- Fill in name and at least one email or LinkedIn URL before running OSINT — better seeds produce better matches.
- Review talking points before you rely on them in outreach; treat them as drafts.
- If a run fails, check the contact’s OSINT status and try again after the cooldown.
